Transducer - What does transducer stand for? Medical ultrasonic transducers (probes) come in a variety of different shapes and sizes for use in making cross-sectional images of various parts of the body. Pressure transducer An instrument component which detects a fluid pressure and produces an electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic signal related to the pressure. Energy forms consist of (but are not confined to) mechanical, electrical, chemical, electromagnetic, thermal and acoustic energy. Like the pressure switch, the transducer is connected to the medical gas pipeline. transducer. The negative sign indicates that the direction of induced EMF and the direction of induced current are in the opposite direction. Biology Something, such as a receptor in a cell membrane, that transmits a signal within a cell or from the exterior of a cell to its interior. In passive transducer, the output is obtained by changing the physical properties (resistance, inductance, and capacitance) of the material. A device used in ultrasound that sends and receives the sound wave signal. Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. Induced EMF is given as Where B is the magnetic induction, l is the length of the conductor, and V is the velocity of the moving conductor.
